      Well the best example is the story around synthetic oestrogens “leaking” into the water ways…

      They are much more environmentally stable than the naturally occurring oestrogens and don’t breakdown as quickly… so when they come into contact with fish even the low concentrations can have an effect. There is a rising incidence of hermaphroditism (both male/female mix) in fish!

      Poor fish, hermaphrodites tend to be infertile.
