• Question: I am currently on blood thinners, will this effect how fast my heart has to pump blood around my body?

      Blood thinners are used to make it easier for the heart to pump blood around the body. If the blood is too think then the heart needs to squeeze the blood really hard in order to move it around the body – Have you ever tried to get dried up, thick toothpaste out of the tube?

      Your heart may actually be able to beat slower as a result, but it’s more likely that it will beat at about the same speed but not quite as hard.
