• Question: How are hormones artificially manufactured and what are there most common uses?

      Well there are a number of different ways… they can be made in animals and harvested for use in research…

      But perhaps the most common way is to use bio-reactors containing lots of cells that can be engineered to produce the hormone of choice. Bacteria can also be used but sometimes the hormones need further processing steps to get them in a workable shape!

      I’d say apart from research the most common uses of artificial hormones would be in clinical use (e.g. insulin, oestrogen, testosterone, etc…) or in agriculture
