• Question: When you lose an organ like a kidney, so you can still live, do the other organs reproduce hormones slower?

Have a good think where you put it? If I lose something it’s usually down the side of the bed…

The body is very good at making up for changes, in most organ systems there is extra capacity, that means that when it really needs to put extra effort in it can…a bit like me staying up late to finish some work after leaving it a bit late!

I don’t think there would actually be much change in your hormones levels, as the rest of your body would still need the hormones it needed before the kidney was lost.
