Hello, Thyroxine is a hormone that is produced by the thyroid gland (which is located in your neck). Thyroxine has both metabolic and growth effects on the body. Thyroxine release is important for stimulating growth during development and maturation, however, too much thyroxine can cause a condition called acromegally.
