Hello Sam, this is a difficult question to answer because hormones cover a wide range of bodily functions. So it depends on whether you are interested in growth and development, pregnancy, metabolism or stress.
I’d begin with asking – what does my hormone control, where is it made, why is it made, what controls its release, which cells does it regulate and what is it’s receptor like? Then I would look for diseases associated with it this may give you more of a clue to what it does.
I’d definitely suggest going with Elaine’s suggestion here… pick maybe one or two “case studies” of interesting hormones and try to answer these questions… you’ll be surprised what you find out sometimes!
