• Question: If your body produced hormones in fewer quantities and slower, would you adapt to it?

      your body is pretty could at adapting to changes, which is why in some cases people with hypothyroidism don’t show symptoms for a while.

      It’d really depend on how much lower it was, but if it was only slightly your body could compensate by having more receptors to detect the hormone!

      It depends on which hormones we’re talking about really… some you would adapt to as Heather suggests with increased numbers of receptors…

      But for others they are very sensitive to changes and the body would not be able to adapt because of the hormone mechanism of action and often there are threshold amounts for activity… So there would come a point where if the levels were too low your health would suffer
