• Question: Do babies have less hormones than adults? And do the hormones get created slower in babies or adults? (If either!)

      Hormone production varies as you need it, I guess they would need less as their blood volume is smaller so less hormone would be needed to get the levels in the blood up.

      But that’s a logical answer, rather than an absolute one!

      Yeah as Heather said the absolute amount hormones between a child and an adult would be less due to the blood volume of the child… but we’re talking about concentrations… there would be certain hormones like growth hormone that I would expect to be of higher concentration in babies… whereas hormones like oestrogen/testosterone would be much higher in adults because they haven’t hit puberty…
