• Question: Do animals produce hormones at the same rate as humans?

      If we account for the differences in size (i.e. a dog’s heart rate is maybe 3 times faster than a humans but then again the dog is 3 times smaller) then I would hazard a guess that for the most part a lot of hormones would have similar rates of production.

      But because the animals are adapted to their specific environments and have different needs, certain hormones may have faster or slower production even after accounting for differences in scale. i.e. a bear hibernating would slow down all its hormone production… while mice maybe need to grow faster to be able to run away from predators and have higher levels of growth hormones earlier than a human.
